Deconstructing Happiness: The Difference between Pleasure and Joy

~

.

.

When we experience PLEASURE, we achieve gratification.

.

We gain pleasure from something EXTERNAL.

.

Pleasure is therefore TEMPORARY. Anything temporary fuels desire. And when we desire, we give our power away to something else.

.

Gratification is only the ILLUSION of happiness. Because we are dependent on something we CAN’T control.

.

The side effect of pleasure: SUBCONSCIOUS GUILT.

.

.

When we experience JOY, we achieve happiness.

.

We gain joy from something INTERNAL.

.

Joy is therefore PERMANENT. We create it. We sustain it. We manifest joy when we act in a way that is in alignment with spirit.  And when we are true to real self, we maintain our power.

.

Happiness is REAL because we are dependent on what we CAN control—our own choice.

.

The side effect of joy: SUBCONSCIOUS PRIDE.

.

.

Experiencing PLEASURE is common.  Producing JOY is rare.
